I found some old postcards at the flea market and this one from Paris had never been written. I scanned it and used it as a texture on my feather collection along with "Glorious Grunge Memories" texture from FrenchKiss.

Photo Transfer

This transfer differs from the black and white post I shared earlier in that I started with a collage of gold rice paper because the building was gold. After the transfer, I worked back into the print with watercolor to accentuate the red window trim. The photo was taken in Chinatown, San Francisco.

Thanks to Leslie at French Kiss Studio for the French letter and to Kim Klassen for the old paper texture.

waiting. . . .

I used Kim's texture, 'revolution', on this shot. Blend-mode was multiply at 47% and then I added selective color.
Thanks to Leslie at French Kiss Studios for the texture, 'Bohemian'. Thank you to  Rita at The Coffee Shop Blog for the vintage frame.

Unknown Future

I'm feeling rather vulnerable these days with uncertainty, so I chose to do a self-portrait with the vanishing point (future) way off in the distance and obscured. I changed the image to monochromatic with the channel mixer, burn tool on figure with an overall increase in brightness and contrast. Then, I applied Kim Klassen's texture, 'paperlove',> desaturate >brightness and contrast added>blend-mode: multiply @ 44%. I erased the texture over the figure and added the frame.

Taliesin

Frank Lloyd Wright created a beautiful home and school of architecture near Spring Green, Wisconsin beginning in 1911. He called this Taliesin, Welch for "shining brow", because he positioned the house on the "brow" of a hill so the structures would appear to rise naturally from the landscape. This statue was in the garden, but later moved within this stone corridor to protect it from further decay from the weather. Kim's texture, 'happy heart', was the perfect remedy to tone-down the bright light coming in from top left. I used blend mode - darken at 66% and then erased over the face area to retain the sweet softness Wright captured.

whispers

This was done in response to the prompt 'whisper' from Kim Klassen's class. I used her texture 'grungedup', blend mode - soft light, and erased the bottle at 49%
